Our home life has been more lively since my relatives moved in. My husband and I never have a quiet moment anymore. I guess he’s been feeling the strain too. Yesterday, my husband decided that we needed a private dinner for a change. I looked at him as if he’d sprouted another head. Usually, I’m the one who initiates such things. I guess he misses me more than usual. It’s hard to feel connected to your spouse when your schedules only sync up long enough to say “Thanks for dinner.”, “I love you.” or “Good night.”
In addition to this good news, I’m also being surprised about dinner choice. I don’t know what made him finally realize that I love surprises, but I’m glad he finally heard me. Nothing is going to ruin this for me. I’ve already decided.
I think it does put a strain on a marriage when relatives move in. It is good to have frequent dates outside of the home where a couple can “zero in” on each other.
