Day 360: Empty Beds

Where I live I call the seasons what they are: Cold and Damp, Warmer and Wet, Boiling Water, and Grey and Muddy. We are deep in what should be the Grey and Muddy.

Well, typically, that’s how it is. Now it’s kinda warm and very dry. The River is as low as I’ve seen it. Local waterways, lakes and ponds are becoming empty beds. It hasn’t rained in ages. Seeing dead fish has become a daily occurrence.

Shit has gotten real for aquatic creatures.

We are in the midst of a pretty serious drought. Water is disappearing at a rate that doesn’t concern anyone apart from me. Its bothersome. It’s hard to have the holiday spirit when the land around me is in crisis.

Thanks, climate change.
